GYM BAG ESSENTIALS

Sometimes, I am one to draw a blank in what I should pack for the gym. You think a water bottle a shake, and your gym pass would be all you need but once you get there and realize what seemed to be enough is not no longer. Take this as an annual checklist before you leave the house.

  1. Towel

Really, who would want to lift weights with a guy that lets his sweat become everyone’s pre-shower. You don’t need a full shower towel to carry around, a simple square face towel can work to dab. This of course, is depending on the size you are. If you are 6’6, a face towel would only cover your pinky and maybe a small part of your face. Don’t think of this as an insult at all, your much-appreciated trust me.

 2. Arm Band/ Wireless Headphones

This would be something to consider if you are slowly transitioning into a gym rat 602fa30269e54ea4e39dde3709e0724fand not in a bad way either.  You could throw your phone in your pocket while listening to music, but really how many times have you hit the cord and your phone goes flying out of your pocket. You can buy an Arm Band for an economical price. Gearbest sells them for $9.68 which includes a key pouch and headphone hubs. That’s a huge bonus especially when you don’t want to leave anything important in your bag. I’ll leave the link to the armband below if you’re interested in purchasing online. Expect wireless headphones to not be the same price as your armband. Depending on the size of the headphones, most start at $60 for the buds and can go up to $200 dollars for the headset.

3. Shampoo/ Conditioner

I understand that sometimes the older men in the locker rooms, don’t get the term “ too close fodove_0r comfort” but hey it’s a bonus leaving the gym smelling like fresh wood and pine ( because who wouldn’t). If you happen to have a date every day with acne this is the easiest to clean your skin right away. Leaving sweat lingering on your back can irritate your skin, as much as sitting down and relaxing before a shower sounds good. This way, it’s part of your routine and more time for a nap at home.

4. Snack

After a vigorous workout and burning a lot of energy, I know having a snack is the first thing on my mind. You don’t have to carry a dinner plate with utensils to quickly give your body what it deserves. Cliff bars are compact and easy to throw in a packed bag. You can buy them in a huge box at Costco ( that’s what I normally used to do). They even have the “ Builder’s bar”, that includes 20gram of protein, 23 vitamins /minerals and 29-31g of carbohydrates to provide fuel.

Flavors: Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter ( my fav), Chocolate Mint, Crunchy Peanut Butter and Vanilla Almond.

5. A Lock

I can’t count how many times i have forgot to bring a lock. If you’re not interested in some other dude taking a peek and a gander at your personal items, then I suggested keeping it on lockdown. I mean I highly doubt anyone in their right mind would want to mess with a beefcake like yourself , but you just never know.

 6. Body Spray

You ask, what’s the real difference between body spray and cologne? Well, cologne contains oil that reacts to your body for a longer lasting scent. Body spray is lighter and with little to no oils. Which is a benefit for a quick freshen up after a shower. Normally body spray’s only do last for an hour, so if you are changing to go into town on a night out, keep a travel sized cologne on you.
