Honestly, who doesn’t love the 90’s ( and early 2000s)? It probably was one of the better decades for all sorts of reasons. I mean Friday night’s were made to hit up Blockbuster and snag 80 cent candies on your way out. Now, it’s only a click away to find your favorite film and snuggle up to some….douche (just kidding, but maybe not). One thing I do love about the year of 2018 was the love for 90’s makeup and seeing recreations by those who didn’t get a chance to play on the box computers for a while. If you have been searching for a checklist of all the goods you need, you have come to the right place. We found a new makeup bag of looks that you can switch in and out while still recycling a few products here and there.
MY LIPGLOSS IS POPPIN’
It really wouldn’t be a throwback look if you didn’t throw in an extra glossy lip. Though I did purchase mine from Lip smackers, the makeup world is your pearl in an oyster. But the ’90s just didn’t revolve around that, which seems to be a non-popular choice to cut. You will see celebs like Drew Barrymore and Christina Aguilera rock a maroon lip liner and a lighter shade lipstick. That isn’t always the case, sometimes they did match so if there is a 2 for 1 on lip liners I would suggest snagging another one.
THE MAJESTICAL WORLD OF EYESHADOW
If you don’t have violet in your palette are you even doing it right? I am obsessed with Lime Crimes shadows, they have such a great range to match all of your looks without having to buy hundreds of single containers or purchasing one palette for the sake of one color. All of these shades would be perfect for either your baby face lip gloss or maroon grudge. Not to mention totally rad transitional shades. Don’t forget to highlight the inner corner of your eye and swipe your brow with some glitter.
OH SO MATTE
I never really understood why so many gurus on Youtube make their 90’s face makeup so dewy when in reality, most celebs on the carpet used heavy powder. Also, foundation wasn’t a slice of the ‘cake’ unless you were a bombshell like Pamela Anderson. So until you’re having a stage sweat moment, keep your powder on you to lightly brush up during the day.
