I think we all have fond memories of playing on our Nintendo box with our friends or siblings versing each other in Mario Cart. Some of us over others carried on the interest of gaming even if it’s not on a competitive level. Amidst work and school, I wanted to find something that not only can help with me mentally but something that has no relevance to the hobbies I pursue and would take my full attention away when I need it the most. I didn’t really put much thought into wanting to own a Nintendo again since I was never the person that wanted to invest time sitting at my screen battling for hours. But after I did some thinking, knowing I am not always up to discuss every bit with my therapist, I decided to see other’s experiences with trying it out recreationally.
Though there are a few organizations that back gamers that develop stress or enhance their mental health situation, Psychology Today states that there are cognitive benefits on the bright side. As gaming takes on use of attention, memory and decision making, for those that can get antsy or of course over think it’s perfect to keep your mind going and away from anything that starts to linger. While being mindful of how many hours you keep your fingers latched to your new gadget, I thought we would share some of our favourite skins for your new Nintendo or controller that will get you ready for combat.
