IN THE KITCHEN: ETHICAL, ORGANIC + MORE CHEF JACKET OPTIONS

Growing up with parents who were chefs and restaurant owners, I practically felt like I was raised sitting in a large soup pot. You could say I have seen my fair share of uniforms and can confidently point out that, designs and materials used today are way more creative than it was when my father was a young executive chef, even though he was ahead of his time.

There was something about the look of a chef’s uniform I always found super fascinating as a kid. The checkered pants seemed to me like the perfect fit for a food superhero. I mean, satisfying hundreds of people who are hangry would be a perfect pilot for a children’s cartoon.

Since I know in a scenario where you are under pressure with minimum cooks on the line, it can be quite cumbersome when you are not comfortable in what you are wearing, especially material. Of course, most high-end restaurants have their own uniform dress code but if you happen to one that is ultra lucky and chooses what jacket to wear, we curated a great collection when a great wash just won’t seem to do.
