HOW TO STYLE: JOGGERS

Casual chic-  attire basically requires that you mix a dressy element.

How to style joggers you ask? and I’m not talking about your grandpa’s 1950’s joggers that go past your belly button, so if that is what you are looking for than you have came to the wrong article…wrong website….Honestly, you mise well just shut down your computer now and throw it out the window…than burn it cause you are living in the wrong century. Joggers you can find at any menswear department that speaks I am here to kill all the ladies.

Should I go out and grab a pair? Yes. Want a few reasons why? well you will just have to keep on reading.

Start with basic 3: Dark Green, Black & Denim.

TIP: Denim Jogger’s I would highly prefer if you are new to this clan, because it is so close to an actual jean it is not a far stretch from what you have been working with, and you can slowly expand what look suits the best. With shirts there are 3 common looks you can create with your joggers.

 Warning: please do not wander off too far from the colour pallet of the certain jogger you purchased when starting out. This is not a time or place to try and start a trend of funky colours happening all at once, till you get the hang of it.

SHIRTS:

1. The Dress Shirt

I would say this is one of my favourites. Just like a hat stated in this month’s “ We get the look” a simple dress shirt with a casual pant cleans the look up easily. If your just stepping outside the box slowly you can start off your journey with a black jogger * again not too far off from what you were working with*. It acts as like a dress pant but in more of a relaxed way. If you want to make a statement do not stay in the bubble of not wanting to stand out, fashion is made to break rules, not stick to them. Shoes: You can grab out your converse, a low cut would look best.

Where can I wear this look?: Casual lunch, relaxed office environment, a sports event and a date.

2. The Denim/ Flannel

The ultimate ‘ I look good but I am so comfy right now”. Denim shirts come a close second to the dress shirts due to most being the same cut. Flannels because they are print become a statement piece and is considered an ingredient of a perfect match. ( Just like chicken nuggets and ketchup go together, you know what I mean). In the example picture, you can use a flannel as an overcoat to a sweater. I will personally come shake you if I see you adding extra print. Shoes: a Nike shoe that matches the coloration of the outfit.

 Where can I wear this?: errands, to the mall ( to shop for more joggers) or coffee with your mom ( lol)

3. THE T- SHIRT JERSEY.

You can find this exact look on most celebs such as the biebs. This certain vibe you can throw on a snapback and add a simple watch. Defiantly considered to be more of the bad boy out of the 3. Layering is an option, a white tee can double as an undershirt. TIP: Keep the under t-shirt oversized so it can be seen under the jersey if you want to add extra detail to your outfit. |

 Where can I wear this? Concert, drinks with the boys and if you work in urban street-wear retail.

 JACKET(S):

Since the weather has been incredible, this might not even be an option but I have to confess bomber jackets looks ace with joggers. Its’ easy to sway from day to night, and can take over your closet to becoming the easiest item to match. If you want to stock up on anything it would be this. Don’t be afraid to match the colour of your joggers to your jacket, its downright smooth and a savage way of moving yourself onto the best dressed list this summer.
